DIY Nature Inspired Natural Christmas Decorations

Nature Inspired Natural Christmas Decorations

Christmas embodies a feeling of coziness and winter magic, which is why it is my favorite holiday to decorate for with the scent of balsam fir filling every room and the classic deep green, white, and wood color palette making my nature inspired heart smile. While Christmas can be a holiday that is filled with a lot of manufactured waste, I personally find that it can be incredibly easy to find and forage Christmas decor from nature with natural Christmas decorations that will make your home feel like a winter wonderland forest without creating unnecessary waste.

When it comes to natural Christmas decorations I want to encourage you to put your creative hat on and look for inspiration from nature. Ordinary things like sticks, pine cones, citrus fruit, and fresh greenery can all be transformed into beautiful nature inspired decorations that embody all those classic winter wonderland Christmas feelings.

So stop shopping for your Christmas decorations, and instead go on a nature walk and get inspired by all the beauty that is all around you to make some of your own DIY Christmas decorations. The best part, these natural Christmas decorations are FREE and once the holiday season has passed, can be brought back to the woods where they will naturally biodegrade.

Foraged Wood Star Made from Sticks

Often the simplest decorations can be the most beautiful. For these natural Christmas decorations, simply forage 5 sticks of similar size from your backyard, and tie together in a star pattern with string, or super glue for a classic nature inspired Christmas decoration. You can even turn your wooden star into a Christmas Tree topper by wrapping wire in a spiral around the bottom of your star.
